BOOK REVIEW: YOU'RE NEVER WEIRD ON THE INTERNET (ALMOST) BY FELICIA DAY

A mere 5 minutes into this audiobook I had decided that I was irrevocably in love with Felicia Day. I'd initially hesitated to read this memoir because I knew absolutely nothing about Felicia—like literally nothing. To me, Felicia Day was a gaming...person...I think? But I needed an audiobook to listen to on my walks to class and this one was available on Overdrive, so I was like what the hell, let's give it a shot. And then one day I started it and I thought wait a minute...this is actually really good. like really, really good. like I-love-this-already good. It was then that my Felicia-Day-Stan-Status slowly but surely started to come into existence.

(me after I listened to the first 5 mins of this book and realized that it was ridiculously wonderful)

Listen, this memoir was just an absolute joy to listen to. Felicia Day is a hilarious, lively, and authentic writer, a fact made all the more apparent in her endlessly entertaining narration of the audiobook. On all levels, You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) is a gush-worthy book. Usually, celebrity memoirs don't get higher than a 3.5 star rating from me. Sure, I've liked plenty of them, but they're typically nothing to write home about. Felicia Day's, though, is leaps and bounds better than any celeb memoir I've ever read. And that's part of the reason why this book surprised me so much. Not only did I enjoy a memoir about a celebrity I previously knew nothing about, but I genuinely LOVED it—like it's-a-new-favourite-of-mine loved it. What can I say? Felicia Day is so compelling as a writer and narrator, it's pretty much impossible not to immediately love her.

If you take away anything from this review, I hope it's this: go and listen to the audiobook of You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost). There's basically zero chance you'll be disappointed.
